EMERGENCY ROOM
The South City Hospital Emergency Room (ER) Department provides 24-hour service for trauma and non-trauma medical and surgical emergencies. This is supported by 24-hour x-ray and laboratory services.
We are also equipped with one operating theatre in ER where minor surgical procedures can be performed, and there is a 6-bed observation ward to monitor patients’ responses to treatment before being discharged from the hospital.
Our ER handles the following types of emergencies:
- Medical emergencies e.g.: cardiac arrest, acute myocardiac attack, severe infections, asthma, coma, fits and stroke etc.
- All Obstetric & Gynaecological emergencies.
- Surgical emergencies e.g.: perforated gut, bleeding gastrointestinal tract and pancreatitis etc.
- Orthopaedic emergencies e.g.: fractures, dislocations, spinal injuries and sports injuries etc.
