Dr. Abdul Manan Junejo

Dr. Abdul Manan Junejo is working as a Professor and Head of Nephrology Department at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Karachi. He has over 20 years’ experience as an expert in management of various kidney diseases.

He has done MBBS from Chandka Medical College, Larkana and was selected for House job at Dow Medical College Civil hospital, Karachi, in department of medicine and surgery.

He declared in April, 1993 Federal Public Service Commission and got posted initially at National Institute of Child Health, Karachi, where he worked with Professor Afroze Ramzan in pediatric Nephrology. As due to his interest in the field of Nephrology he got transferred from NICH to JPMC, Karachi and joined for the training of fellowship in Nephrology.

In March 2000 he completed his training at JPMC and SIUT and in first attempt he has done FCPS in Nephrology. He has the honor of being the first Fellow in Nephrology from Sindh and Balochistan.  

His international experience includes working as a consultant nephrologist with collaboration of MOH-KSA and CPSP (College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan) at Yanbu General Hospital Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 3 months (27-05-11 – 27-08-11). He has also worked as a consultant Nephrologist in multinational company “DIAVERUM” from September 2014 to April 2016 at Riyadh KSA.

Currently he is involved in the training of FCPS-II Nephrology Postgraduates and under his supervision more than 20 fellows in Nephrology passed and 10 are under training. He is also actively involved in the academic activities of Residents and other national and international CME activities.

FIELD OF INTEREST:-

• Preventive aspects of Kidney disease especially acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, its risk factor D.M, HTN and Stone disease.
• Glomerular diseases, Nephrotic syndrome.
• Renal replacement therapy, Hemodialysis and kidney transplant.
• Management of patients for Dialysis.
• Pre and post transplant follow up of patients of kidney transplant.
