Dr. Hira Nawaz

Dr. Hira Nawaz is a qualified pediatrician with an MBBS from Dow University of Health Sciences. She completed her fellowship in General Pediatrics from the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Karachi, and further specialized in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine from the same institute. She brings extensive experience in managing complex pediatric emergencies, including trauma, cardiac and respiratory failure, oncologic crises, neurocritical conditions, shock, diabetic ketoacidosis, and multi-organ dysfunction. Dr. Nawaz is highly skilled in performing advanced pediatric procedures, including:

• Mechanical ventilation
• Endotracheal intubation
• HFNC and BiPAP
• Central venous and arterial line placement
• Pigtail catheter insertion for pneumothorax and pleural effusions
• Point-of-care lung ultrasound (POCUS)
• Ascitic drain placement and peritoneal dialysis
• Optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) measurement for intracranial pressure monitoring

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Nawaz is actively involved in teaching and research. She has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and regularly facilitates hands-on workshops in mechanical ventilation, pediatric fundamental critical care support (PFCCS), lung ultrasound, and central venous access techniques.
