Dr. Raman Kumar
Dr. Raman Kumar is working as a child Neurologist at South City Hospital since 2020. He graduated from Baqai Medical University in 2007 and completed his training in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology from Aga Khan University Hospital.
He Joined LNH as a consultant pediatric Neurologist in 2018 and established Paeds Development unit and child Neurology services to manage children with neurodevelopmental disorders and neurological conditions . Dr. Kumar established Pakistan’s First Childhood Epilepsy helpline in an effort to bridge the childhood epilepsy treatment gap and to fight the social stigma associated with it. He started once a month, child neurology clinic in Quetta Baluchistan, to achieve his goal of making child neurology accessible and recognized in the community. He has helped many patients and families with suspected genetic neurological conditions to get the genetic diagnoses through his collaborations with genetic labs across the globe.
He is experienced in providing in-patient and out-patient care for infants and children with all types of neurological conditions like childhood epilepsy, functional impairments in cerebral palsy, neuro muscular disorders, CNS infections, inflammatory conditions of the brain, movement disorders, childhood headache and various genetic neurological conditions.
Dr. Kumar is skilled to provide neuro-critical care to sick children admitted in pediatric ICU with neurological complications. He provides consultations and counselling to parents of new born babies whose brain gets affected before or soon after birth. He provides comprehensive guidance to parents of children with neuro- developmental disorders, like autism spectrum and provides management of the associated neurological conditions.
