Dr. Shahnawaz is an experienced Urologist with more than 19 years of experience
Dr. Shahnawaz is currently serving as Head of the department (HOD) of Urology at Sindh -Government Lyari
General Hospital (LGHK) Shaheed Mohtarma Baynazeer Bhutto Medical College (SMBBMC).
He has a special interest in endoscopic and open prostate and reconstructive surgeries like, Pyeloplasty
Urethroplasty, Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) repair, and Ureteroveginal fistula (UVF) repair
He is also an expert in other urological procedures
- Stone surgery – Endoscopic PCNL, Ureterorenoscopy (URS), and open stone surgery Pyelo-lithotomy, Ureterolithotomy
- Child and adult Hypospadias Repair

Dr. Shahnawaz’s journey began after he completed his MBBS from the University Of Sindh
He has had the fortune to gaining experience and working at SIUT from 2002 to 2007
Dr. Shahnawaz joined JPMC Urology from 2008 to 2010 where he did his post-graduation degree in MS
(Master of Surgery) from Karachi University
Dr. Shahnawaz joined Sindh Government Lyari General Hospital (LGHK) Shaheed Mohtarma Baynazeer
Bhutto Medical College (SMBBMC) from 2013 and is currently serving as Associate professor and Head
of the Department of Urology at SMBBMC LGHK for benefit of poor patients.
Dr. Shahnawaz Has more than 10 publications to his name, His special interest is prostate and
reconstructive surgeries he has been awarded for his paper on arteriovenous fistula AVF.
