Prof. Dr. Kalimullah Thaheem
Prof. Dr. Kalimullah Thaheem graduated in 1970 from Dow Medical College, Karachi. He went abroad to acquire a Master’s degree in treatment of the Ear, Nose, and Throat conditions (Doctor of Laryngology and Otolaryngology). He did his Master’s in Medical Education from Maastricht University, the Netherlands. He has been affiliated with DMC for 20 years.
Dr Thaheem’s major specialty is endoscopic sinus surgery and he became the first Pakistani to study this advancement in Graz, Austria with Prof. Heinz Stammberger, a world authority in Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS).
FESS is a conservative surgical procedure that is undertaken in daycare. It is used for certain conditions such as polyposis, mucocele, and the lodging of a foreign body (such as chhalia, beads, and erasers, especially in pediatric cases).
